My Thrifty Thursday

I have recently become a crazy couponer and deal seeker. This is the 1st installment of my all new Thrifty Thursday post! There is a Mr. Linky down at the bottom for everyone to share their thrifty stories with us! Just make sure to link directly to your post. You can add your link regardless of whether or not you named your post Thrifty Thursday!

I was actually thrifty on Wednesday, but since today is Thursday and Thifty Wednesday doesn't sound right... I'll stick with Thrifty Thursday.

We are going camping tomorrow (in 2 brand new campers... a 37 ft. and a 29 ft. I'm so excited!!) and I had some things I needed to pick up so Brayden went to daycare yesterday. That meant that I got to go to CVS, which I have fallen in love with lately. I have gotten some fabulous Extra Care Bucks deals the past month, but unfortunately didn't save receipts or take pictures, so you'll just have to take my word for it.

I missed out on the awesome 2 day only Memorial Day sale that CVS had, but decided to go yesterday just to check out what else was going on.

Can we say, 90% Clearance Rack Restocked?!?!

For 4.27, this is what I got:

I did 3 transactions total and only planned on doing 2, but the cashier forgot to ring up the Boost Kid Essentials, so my 2 turned into 3.

Transaction 1 (for the ECB to use on next transaction):
4 oz Colgate Total Advanced Whitening Toothpaste $2.99
1 oz. Colgte Max Fresh Toothpaste $0.99
$1 Q for Advanced Whitening
$1 Q for max Fresh (making it free)
Total: $1.98 +.36 tax = $2.34
I received 2 ECB for next purchse also.

Transaction 2:
2 Axe Body Sprays $0.19 each
Baby Orajel $0.39
Johnson&Johnson Baby Oil $0.42
Orajel Plaque Revealing pre-brush Gel $0.39
2 Right Guard Deodorants $0.32 each
1 Right Guard Sport Deodorant $0.36
$2 ECB from first transaction
Total: $0.58 + $0.05 tax = $0.63

Transaction 3 (for forgotten item):
6 pk Boost Kid Essentials $1.19 (regularly $11.99)
Total: $1.19 + $0.11 tax = $1.30

I'm really excited about the Boost because Brayden hasn't eaten well in the past oh, 6 months or so... so we have been breaking the bank buying Pediasure... that stuff is NOT cheap! I was thrilled when I saw the Boost on the Clearance rack, but unfortunately, they only had 1. They had the exact same boost at Walgreens on clearance... but their clearance price was 9.99... yeah right Wags!!

So, total OOP for my CVS trip was 4.27.

I actually had $4 ECB when I got there, but for some reason I didn't think to use it. If I would have, my total OOP could have been $2.22 with 2 ECB for next transaction.

I also got a raincheck for the Speedstick deodorant that has ECB attched to it and my store will give me the ECB even if the promotion has ended.

After seeing the awesome clearance rack at CVS #1 I decided I had to check out the other CVS (#2). The clearance was a bust, but I did cash in on 2 free drinks!

I didn't have the SoBe coupon at the first CVS but I stopped at my dad's office to print it before going to CVS#2. I'm gonna print out another from home and get a couple more tomorrow.

The SoBe's were B1G1 and SoBe has a coupon here for B1G1, making both drinks free! I needed Little Swimmers for this weekend so I went ahead and got them at CVS since they were on sale. I also had a $1.50Q for them. I can't find the receipt, but I think I paid around $5.50 for the Little Swimmers. I did use my 4 ECB I forgot to use at CVS #1, so I think I ended up paying a little less than $2 OOP here.

Also, all the small and medium Little Swimmers had a foil pack stuck to them that contained 3 sun sensors. I didn't think this was fair for those of us with bigger kids, so I took the liberty of unsticking it from the small package and sticking it to mine!

The sun sensors are really neat. You stick it on your child where they will get the most sun exposure when outside. The color changes shades with increased sun exposure. Once it reaches it's max color shade, you know it's time to apply more sunscreen. This will definitely come in handy this weekend while camping!

I also got an added bonus for sneaking the sun sensors onto my package. Imagine my surprise when I opened the foil sun sensors pack and discovered $4.50 in coupons for more sun sensors, little swimmers, and sunscreen!! Woohoo!

Okay, I don't know how this post ended up getting so long and outta hand, so I'll end it now!!

Have you gotten any good deals this week that you wanna share? If you have posted about being "thrifty" this week, I'd love to read it! Just add the direct link of your post to Mr. Linky... It can be any good deals... not just CVS!!

Check back next Thursday if you have more "thrifty-ness" to share.

Happy Thrifty Thursday!!
